Biographical History
Oka was a native of Kochi Prefecture, born 1878; employed by Yorozu Chh before relocating to the United States; he arrived in the United States, 1902; he was an influential journalist in the pre-war Japanese community and operated the Kinmon Press (San Francisco) and published the Amerika Shimbun and fu Nipp (Sacramento Daily News); was briefly interned at Heart Mountain but was released to engage in propaganda activities against Japan on behalf of the British Armed Forces in India during World War II.
