George Stillman Hillard was a Boston lawyer, politician, and author. As a lawyer he practiced practiced in partnership with Charles Sumner, and served both in the Massachusetts legislature as well as U.S. district attorney for Massachusetts. He also wrote extensively and edited a number of periodicals.
