Organized in 1965 by Joseph Harold Crown (1907- ; Columbia University B.A., 1927), a tax lawyer, to promote an end to the American involvement in the Vietnam conflict. The Committee, which included Wayne Morse, Carey McWilliams, Philip C. Jessup, Hans J. Morgenthau, and Quincy Wright, was dissolved in 1973.
