Isaac Disraeli was an English author of Jewish heritage, and Benjamin Disraeli's father. He had some success publishing critical essays in periodicals, before creating a phenomenon with Curiosities of Literature, a series of monographs containing a miscellany of literary anecdotes that went through many printings. He had less luck with fiction, but his well-researched Commentary on the Life and Reign of Charles I earned him an honorary degree from Oxford.

From the description of I. D'Israeli letter to Mr. Upcott, 1820 July 9. (Pennsylvania State University Libraries). WorldCat record id: 57591613
