Antonio Lotti (c. 1667-1740), composer, was born in Venice, and studied under Legrenzi. He spent his career at St Mark's Cathedral in Venice, starting as an organist, before becoming maestro di cappella in 1736. He visited Dresden on the invitation of the Crown Prince of Saxony, 1717-1719. Lotti composed hymns, masses, operas and psalms, and was also a noted teacher.
