Mooney-Slater was a professor of physics at Newcomb College, Tulane University (1926-1952), and University of Florida (1966-1974). She was also a research physicist at University of Chicago, Manhattan Project (1943-1944); National Bureau of Standards (1952-1956); and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1956-1981).
