Lewis Browne was an author, lecturer, and traveler, and a one-time rabbi. Born in London, his parents relocated to Portland, Oregon, around 1910. A prolific writer, he wrote on religious topics as well as history and biography, among other subjects. He was an extensive traveler, notably in Africa, and also worked as a radio commentator.
