The National Institute of Labor Education (1957-1971) was dedicated to encouraging the development of labor education programs within non-labor institutions.

The National Institute of Labor Education (NILE) was established in 1957, as the successor organization to the Inter-University Labor Education Committee. The goals of NILE were to foster experimentation in workers' education and to extend the scope of labor educational programs conducted by non-labor agencies such as universities, libraries and other voluntary organizations. Initially established under grants from the Ford Foundation Fund for Adult Education and the American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations, NILE operated programs in workers' education from 1957 to 1971.
