Marston Morse (1892-1977) received his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1917. He was the Benjamin Peirce Instructor in Mathematics (1919-1920), Assistant Professor of Mathematics (1926-1928), and Professor of Mathematics (1929-1935) at Harvard University. In 1935 he joined the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University, where he taught until his retirement in 1962.

Marston Morse received his Ph. D. from Harvard in 1917. He taught at Harvard from 1926 to 1935 (he was Professor of Mathematics from 1929 to 1935, and served as chairman of the Department of Mathematics from 1933 to 1935). In 1935 he joined the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, where he taught until his death.
