Born in Uzice, Serbia 1886, died in Vienna 1972; social democrat; studied law in Belgrade; active in the Social Democratic Party of Serbia from 1904; took his doctoral degree in criminology in Paris in 1912; published on Balkan socialism in Die Neue Zeit, Vorwärts and other papers; together with D. Lapčevič leader of the oppositional C̀entrists', expelled from the Communist Party of Yugoslavia 1919/1920; in 1921 one of the founders and secretary of the Socialist Party of Yugoslavia; general secretary of the Yugoslavian Chamber of Labour 1925-1936; became a member of the anticommunist liberation movement of the Četniks in 1943; emigrated to France in 1944 and became one of the founders and chairman of the Centre International des Syndicalistes Libres en Exil.
