Edward P. Alexander was Chief of Artillery, 1st Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia, Confederate States Army. He was the author of several books on the Civil War and railroads, including THE WILDERNESS CAMPAIGN, MILITARY MEMOIRS OF A CONFEDERATE, THE CONFEDERATE VETERAN, FIGHTING FOR THE CONFEDERACY, SKETCH OF LONGSTREET'S DIVISION--YORKTOWN AND WILLIAMSBURG, and RAILWAY PRACTICE.
