Massie was Yates Professor of New Testament Exegesis, Mansfield College, Oxford, 1886-1906; a member of the Executive of the National Liberal Federation, 1894-1906 and 1910-25; M.P. for Cricklade, 1906-10; President of the Liberation Society; and Vice Chairman of the Council, Leamington High School for Girls, 1890-1925.
