Moirin Fox was born in Pinner, England of Anglo-Irish ancestry. She moved to Ireland in 1907 and enrolled in Ballingeary College. She married Claude Chevasse in lived in Galway in 1917 and was received into the Catholic Church in 1935. They maintained an Irish-speaking household. Her literary output besides poetry included fiction, drama and biography.
