Hortense de Beauharnais was born to Alexandre, Vicomte de Beauharnais and Josephine Tascher de la Pagerie, the latter the future wife of Napoleon. She was the wife of Louis Bonaparte, King of Holland (from 1806-1810) and the mother of Napoleon III.
