Anderson, A. A. (Abraham Archibald), 1847-1940
Variant namesA.A. (Abraham Archibald) Anderson (1847-1940) was an artist of international reputation when he came to Wyoming and founded the Palette Ranch on the Greybull River. He was influential in persuading Pres. Theodore Roosevelt to create the Yellowstone Forest Reserve (later renamed the Shoshone National Forest) and became its first superintendant on July 1, 1902. In 1933 Anderson published his autobiography, "Experiences and Impressions."
