Siringo wrote A Texas Cowboy, A Cowboy Detective, Two Evil Isms, Lone Star Cowboy, and Riata and Spurs. Pinkerton's Detective Agency suppressed the publication of Two Evil Isms, and charged Siringo with criminal libel, causing him to flee Chicago to New Mexico, where the governor refused to extradite him to Illinois.
