German designer, architect and author; born in 1903 he studied under Hans Poelzig, 1921-1925, worked under Ernst May in Frankfurt am Main as a member of the "Staedtische Hochbauamt," 1926-1931, consequently in various positions. He finally emigrated after several unsuccessful attempts to America in 1938, where he worked with Richard Neutra until 1939, then settled and practised in Mexico.
