The son of former Louisiana governor Robert C. Wickliffe, Robert C. Wickliffe II was born in Bardstown, Ky., while his parents were visiting relatives. He served as a U.S. congressman for the 6th congressional district of Louisiana from 1909 until his death in 1912.

Robert C. Wickliffe of St. Francisville, Louisiana, was born in Bardstown, Kentucky, while his parents were visiting relatives. The son of former Louisiana Governor Robert C. Wickliffe, Robert, II was a U. S. Congressman, 1909-1912, from the 6th Congressional District of Louisiana. Among the bills Wickliffe introduced were those calling for relief of petitioners; a subport of entry at Baton Rouge; rivers, lakes, and harbors improvement; improvement and maintenance of levees; and construction of federal buildings. Wickliffe married Lydia W. Cooke of Louisville, Kentucky. He was killed in a train accident in 1912.
