Durán, Narciso 1776-1846

Narciso Durán was a highly respected Franciscan friar who served at Mission San Jose for twenty-seven years during the early 19th century.

Father Narciso Durán was a Franciscan missionary, originally from Catelonia, Spain, who came from Mexico to Calif. in 1806 and became President of the Missions (1825-1827, 1831-1838).
