Jack Prelutsky was born September 8, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended Hunter College (later called City University of New York) and has studied voice at several music schools. He is married. His hobbies and other interests include making sculptures, bicycling, inventing word games, collecting books and model frogs. Mr. Prelutsky has had a variety of jobs, but he is most known as a poet and singer. His children's books have won many awards and are very popular with children and adults.
