Charles Battell Loomis (1861-1911) was a writer and humorist whose writings appeared frequently in several newspapers and periodicals, including the Atlantic, Harper's, the New York Sun, and the Saturday Evening Post . He was also the author of many books. He attended Brooklyn's Polytechnic Institute, though he did not graduate. Loomis resided in Brooklyn with his wife, Mary Fullerton.
