English author and novelist.

The daughter of Gilbert Frankau, the English popular novelist, and Dorothea Drummond Black, Frankau was educated in Sussex; of Jewish descent, both Pamela and her father converted to Roman Catholicism in 1942. She wrote more than thirty novels, several dozen articles, and short stories. Her most popular novel and often regarded as her best work is The willow cabin (1949). Frankau usually wrote three thousand words a day, primarily in long hand.
