Jack Butler Yeats was an Irish painter and illustrator. He was the younger brother of the poet, William Butler Yeats.

Jack Butler Yeats, the son of artist John Butler Yeats and brother of poet William Butler Yeats, was born in London, educated in Ireland, and returned to London. He wrote and illustrated stories for various magazines and newspapers, including the first cartoon version of Sherlock Holmes in 1894. He belonged to the group known as the Dublin Painters. In his last years, he returned to Ireland and concentrated on his painting.

Born in London, Jack Butler Yeats lived much of his life in Ireland. Like his father John Butler Yeats, he was known mainly as a painter. Yeats also published a number of novels and dramatic works.
