French photographer. With his brother Louis-Auguste operated a portrait studio in Paris, 1841-1865; after 1865, worked for Léon and Levy, and then for Adolphe Braun. Known for Alpine views, also produced images of historical buildings in France, Italy and Belgium, as well as of works of art.
