Edward A. Bacon (1897-1968) was Chairman of the Executive Council Air Coordinating Committee from 1953 to 1960. He served as Assistant to the Secretary of the Army for Canal Zone Affairs in 1954, and was a member of the Tolls Committee of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1958. He also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management from 1954 to 1960. From 1958 to 1961, Edwards served as a member of the Interstate Commission, Potomac River Basin. From 1959 to 1961, he served as the U.S. Chairman of the International Joint Commission for U.S. and Canada.
