Henry Bohn was born on June 22, 1916 to Henry A. Bohn and Margaret Deist Bohn of Oak Park, Illinois. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and trained at Fort Knox, Fort Benning and Fort Bragg. P.F.C. Bohn served in North Africa and Southern Europe. He died in November of 2010 in Oak Park, Illinois.

Henry George Bohn (1796-1884), bookseller and publisher, by 1862 had completed his major publishing enterprises. His sons were not following in the business, so he gradually sold his bookselling and publishing ventures and stock. In 1864 he sold his library series to Bell & Daldry, later Bell & Co.

Richard Griffin & Co. was located at Warwick Square, London, 1854-1858, then resided at 10 Stationers Hall Court 1859-1861, followed by Griffin Bohn & Co. at the same address 1861-1862. The business Charles Griffin & Co. also resided at 10 Stationers Hall Court 1862-1881, and elsewhere (address unknown) after 1881.
