A. B. Yehoshua; Israeli author. Born in Jerusalem, served as a paratrooper in the Israeli Army; studied literature and philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. From 1972, he taught Comparative and Hebrew Literature at the University of Haifa, where he held the rank of Full Professor. His first book of stories was published in 1962; author of eleven novels, three books of short stories, four plays, and four collections of essays.
