Axel Erik Heinrichs (b. July 21, 1890, Helsinki-d. Nov. 16, 1965, Helsinki), General in the Finnish Army, was trained in the volunteer Royal Prussian 27th Jäger Battalion during World War I. He served during the Finnish Civil War as battalion commander and commanded the Finnish III Army Corps in the Winter War. He became Chief of the General Staff in June 1940 and was promoted to General of Infantry in 1941. General Heinrichs was one of the military experts sent by the Finnish president to Moscow for the Agreement of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance negotiations (Finno-Soviet Treaty, 1948).
