Ivan Moffat was born in Havana, Cuba, on the February 18, 1918. He served in an Army Signal Corps photography unit in World War II that was led by George Stevens, who would later collaborate with Moffat on a number of productions. He acted as a screenwriter and producer for several motion pictures and television series. These include Colditz; Black Sunday; Shane and Giant, with Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean. He died on July 4, 2002, in Los Angeles, California.
