M. C. Escher (b. June 17, 1898, Leeuwarden, Netherlands–d. March 27, 1972, Hilversum, Netherlands) was a graphic artist who's work was mathematically inspired. He studied at the Technical College of Delft and the Haarlem School of Architecture and Decorative Arts. He spent most of his adult life in Italy and later the Netherlands.
