Patriotic Peace League.

Hide Profile

The philosophy of the League was that peace--not war or war preparations--was patriotic. To that end, the members "enlisted" men to sign on as antiwar believers rather than enlisting in the army as the United States entered the first World War. Newspaper clippings indicate that the headquarters of the League may have been in Philadelphia.
