Pierpoint Morgan Hamilton (b. 1898, Tuxedo, N.Y.-d. Mar. 4, 1982), U.S. Air Force officer, enlisted in the aviation section, Signal Reserve Corps, in 1917, and received a commission after completing flying training the following year. After having been honorably discharged in December 1918, he was reappointed in the Army as a major in early 1942. He went to London as an intelligence and operations officer, helping to plan assaults in Europe and North Africa, and earned a medal of honor for a mission in French Morocco. General Hamilton later served as operations and intelligence staff officer for the North African Tactical Air Force, and in 1948 became chief of the Air Force Policy Division. He is the great-great-grandson of Alexander Hamilton.
