John Milton was an English poet, prose polemicist, and civil servant for the English Commonwealth. He is famous for his epic poem PARADISE LOST, and his treatise condemning censorship, AREOPAGITICA. Milton matriculated at Christ's College, Cambridge in 1625 and, in preparation for becoming an Anglican priest, stayed on to obtain his Master of Arts on 3 July 1632.

Rev. Arthur Young, of Canterbury, England, was the son of Arthur Young (1741-1820) the English writer on agriculture, economics and social statistics. Young matriculated at Queen's College in 1791 at age 22, and earned his BA degree from Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1793. He died in Russia in 1828.
