Charles L. Venable is a 1986 graduate of the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture. He earned his bachelor's degree at Rice University and his Ph. D. at Boston University. At one time, he was deputy director and chief curator of the Dallas Museum of Art. He has written several books on American decorative arts.
