Leroy Lutes (1890-1980) was Director of Army Service Forces from 1942 to 1945, and Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of Army Service Forces from 1945 to 1946. He became Commanding General of Army Service Forces in 1946, and then was Director of the Service Supply and Procurement Division from 1946 to 1947. Lutes was also Director of Staff of the Munitions Board from 1947 to 1949, and Commanding General of the 4th U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952.
