City planner. Martin Wagner was born in Prussia in 1885, and received his education in Berlin and Dresden (doctorate in engineering, 1915). Served on Berlin public works board from 1918; board of directors of Deutschen Bauhütte, soziale Baugesellschaft m.b.H., 1920-1926 and directed the Deutschen Wohnungsfürsorge AG, 1924-1933. Taught at Graduate School of Design, Harvard University, 1938-1950, and authored Wirtschaftlicher Städtebau (1951). Died in 1957 a U.S. citizen.
