International Association of the Friends of Peace.
Organized in 1912 in Oakland, California, the Association's object was "to promote the immediate and permanent suppresion of war between nations ..." By 1913, there were "nearly a thousand members, including one Congressman, five mayors, over three hundred school teachers ... and others of all classes."
