She married Dwight David Eisenhower II (grandson of President Dwight D. Eisenhower) on December 22, 1968. They have two children: Jennie Elizabeth and Alex Richard. She attended Smith College, and received an M.A. from the Catholic University of America in 1971. She was an assistant editor of Saturday Evening Post in 1973, and has worked as a writer and managing editor for the Curtis Publishing Company. She is the author of the column "Children Read Aloud", and has published a book entitled Special People.
