Basil Temple Blackwood, the third son of the 1st Marquess of Dufferin and Ava, worked mainly as "BTB." He became a barrister at Law in 1900, and was killed in action in 1917. Untrained as an artist, he illustrated six of Hillaire Belloc's children's books.
