British baronet and writer on English history, best known as the compiler of Journals of all the Parliaments during the reign of Queen Elizabeth (published after his death, in 1682). D'Ewes' early diaries formed the basis of College life in the time of James the First (compiled by John Howard Marsden and published in 1841). His Autobiography and correspondence were compiled by J.O. Halliwell-Phillips and published in 1845.
