T︠S︡vetaeva, Marina, 1892-1941
Variant namesMarina Tsvetaeva (1892-1941) was a Russian poet. She left Russia in 1922, with her two children, Ariadna and Georgii, to join her husband, a White army officer Sergei Efron in Berlin. She returned to the Soviet Union in 1939. She committed suicide in the city of Yelabuga in 1941. Boris Ottokar Unbegaun (1898-1973) was a Russian linguist. Born into a German family in Russia, he emigrated to the West after the October Revolution. He studied in Sloveniia and France. After World War II he was professor of linguistics in Strasbourg, Brussels, and Oxford. From 1965 he was professor of Slavic linguistics at the New York University.
