Established in April, 1924 as the Trustees' Campaign Committee, the Committee was renamed the Committee on Development in June, 1924. The Committee disbanded on its own recommendation in November, 1926, when its work was assumed by the President of the University and the President of the Citizens' Committee. It was reinstated in 1928. It supervised public relations, alumni cooperation, and student recruitment; studied general needs and recommended means of securing financial and other support for the University.
