Wolfgang Paalen (Vienna, 1905/1907 - Mexico City, 1959), Austrian painter and writer associated primarily with Surrealism and the Dynatones group. At the beginning of World War II he settled in Mexico, where he introduced the surrealism in painting. He took his own life in Mexico City.
