Benjamin Trumbull (1735-1820) was the eldest son of Benjamin and Mary Brown Trumbull of Hebron, Ct. After studying under the Rev. Elijah Lathrop, Trumbull entered Yale and graduated in 1759. He was ordained a minister in 1760 and was installed as the minister of the Congregational Church in North Haven, Ct.
