Getting to the National Archives and Records Administration

The meeting takes place at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). NARA is located on at 700 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, between 7th & 9th St (see map here). Enter the building at the Special Events entrance on Constitution Avenue. It is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel to NARA: walk south down New Jersey Ave, then turn right on D Street. At 5th Street, take a left onto Indiana Avenue. Turn left onto 7th Street, then right onto Constitution Avenue. You will see a sign for the Special Events entrance about 100 feet ahead on the right (see attached map).

The closest Metro stop is Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter (yellow & green lines), which emerges at Indiana Avenue and 7th Street. See the attached map for directions. You will need to go through a security check, and then there will be signs and greeters to help you find the conference rooms. Please note that photography is not allowed in the building.

The hotel for the conference is the Liaison Capital Hill. Maps and directions are available on the hotel's web site.

The hotel has valet parking, for $48/day. There are, however, cheaper options nearby. There is underground parking at the Hall of the States (444 North Capitol Street NW, Washington, DC), about a block from the hotel. The rates vary (call 202-298-7299 for details), but during the week it is $19/day. They are open from 6am to midnight. Union Station Parking Garage is $22/day (202-898-1950).

Getting here

We recommend flying into Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), if possible, and taking the Metro to the Union Station stop, which is about 3 blocks from the hotel (about a 10-minute walk). Exit the station and walk toward the US Capitol, following the first small section of the semi-circle that is adjacent to the station. Turn right onto E Street, NW. After one block, cross North Capitol Street (the Capitol dome will be clearly visible to the left.) Continue on E Street for one block, then turn left onto New Jersey Avenue, NW. The Liaison Capitol Hill is in the first block, on the left.

Alternatively, Super Shuttle offers van service from Dulles (IAD) and Baltimore-Washington (BWI) to the hotel for $30 and $38 one-way.

Amtrak offers regular service along the Northeast corridor to Union Station (WAS).
